For the first time in 15 years, New York finally has a championship to celebrate. The Giants won Super Bowl XLVI that long ago, and against all odds, the New York Knicks found a dominant way to be crowned NBA Champions even though they were counted out at every turn.

It may have taken a historic Spurs' collapse in Game 4 and enough nail-biting finishes to give most Knicks fans many a heart attack, but they're right back at the top of the mountain for the first time in 53 years. And the Giants should take note of a story unfolding just one trip on the NJ Transit away.

After the Knicks won Game 5, Kayvon Thibodeaux had something to say about what it means for Big Blue. He saw how everyone rallied behind them, and made sure to send a message to Giants fans on Twitter:

"Welp the pressure is officially on @NYKnicks. LFG NewYork!!!"

Kayvon Thibodeaux knows the Giants can learn from the Knicks' title run

Someone has to keep the winning streak going, and as weird as it sounds, the Giants are the city's best hope. Lord knows the Aaron Judge-less Yankees are hopeless, and the Mets are the Mets. And the Jets aren't worth discussing.

Meanwhile, the G-Men are headed in the right direction under new head coach John Harbaugh.

Harbaugh is turning back the clock to the same Super Bowl model that worked 15 years ago under Tom Coughlin. They're getting tougher in the trenches, have a young franchise QB in Jaxson Dart, and have a two-headed monster in the run game reminiscent of Ahmad Bradhaw and Brandon Jacobs.

It's not like Thibs is just talking wildly. New York's defense looks to be much-improved under defensive coordinator Dennard Wilson, and the offense will be dangerous once Malik Nabers returns. They very well could be the surprise team of 2026, and we already know what flying under the radar did for another team in the Big Apple.

The Knicks played elite team basketball and displayed resilience that every person in New York City was able to rally behind.

The term "against all odds" is a fitting descriptor of the Giants' history. They beat the 17-0 Patriots in the Super Bowl. The Knicks knocking off Victor Wembanyama may feel like a David vs. Goliath story, but Kayvon Thibodeaux wants the Harbs-led G-Men to respond with a better underdog story.
