On the seventh play of the first drive for the New York Giants in Week 2 against the Los Angeles Rams, quarterback Jaxson Dart took a huge hit from Byron Young and took a moment, holding his left knee on the field for what felt like forever.
He eventually limped off the field under his own power and went over to the blue medical tent. After spending a couple of minutes in the tent, Dart was seen leaving the sidelines and made his way to the locker room. Not great.
The 23-year-old has officially been listed as questionable to return with a left knee injury. I should note that he was not sent to the X-Ray room when he left the field. What that means, we'll all have to wait and see. Backup QB Jameis Winston has taken over at under center while Dart is being evaluated.

Unfortunately, Dart heading to the blue medical tent has become a little too familiar a sight for Giants fans.
The second-year quarterback had several injury scares during his rookie season and was checked for a concussion five different times in 2025. Here’s a look at the injuries Dart has dealt with since entering the NFL:
- September 2026, left knee: Dart injured his left knee on the Giants’ opening drive against the Rams after taking a massive hit from Young. He limped off under his own power, initially entered the blue medical tent, and then went to the locker room. The Giants officially listed him as questionable to return.
- August 2026, concussion evaluation: Dart took a huge hit from Vikings defensive back Jay Ward on a safety blitz during New York’s preseason opener. He was sent to the medical tent for another concussion evaluation but was ultimately cleared.
- November 2025, concussion: Dart suffered a concussion during the Giants’ Week 10 loss to the Chicago Bears after his head hit the turf hard at the end of a third-quarter run. He missed the next two games before returning in Week 13.

UPDATE: The Giants officially announced that Dart is questionable to return with a left knee injury. The ever-electric Famous Jameis has taken over at quarterback.
UPDATE: Dart did eventually make his way out of the locker room and head to the X-Ray room for further evaluations.
UPDATED: Dart has officially been ruled OUT for the rest of Monday night's game. General manager Joe Schoen told the broadcast that he's going to be okay.
