Malik Nabers' latest revelation gives Giants reason to dream even bigger

If this is only 80%, what does 100% look like?

In case anyone needed to be reminded who Malik Nabers is, he gave an example in the New York Giants' tie against the Washington Commanders. Nabers caught 11 of his 20 targets for 121 yards and a score, posting his second consecutive 100-yard game. The third-year wideout is giving Giants fans flashbacks to his dominant rookie campaign.

But according to Nabers himself, he isn't even playing at 100% yet. Still coming off the knee injury that ended his 2025 season, the receiver believes that he can do even more for Big Blue.

Per Charlotte Carroll of The Athletic, Nabers told reporters, “I still got like 20 percent left to get to. 20-30 (percent).”

Giants' Malik Nabers still has more to unlock

Physically, Nabers should be completely recovered from his torn right ACL. He's more than a year removed from the injury, and even after needing a cleanup surgery over the offseason, he has been medically cleared for a while now.

After missing nearly a full season, though, it's more than understandable that some mental recovery is needed before he's truly at 100%. He's relying on that knee over 60 times each game as he makes quick cuts. Any player who has suffered an injury like his would admit that it takes time to trust the knee again.

Still, Nabers has been electric for the Giants in recent weeks. Across Weeks 4 and 5, he ranked second in the NFL in both targets and receiving yards, behind Puka Nacua in both categories. He logged a ridiculous target share of 38.5% in Week 5.

If that's just 80% of what he can do, imagine his numbers when he's fully recovered, both physically and mentally. We could be looking at even better numbers than what he posted in his rookie year. Nabers might be on the path to some franchise records by the end of the season.

Malik Nabers can carry the Giants to a Week 6 win over the Saints

As he continues to grow into his full potential, Nabers is set up for another big performance in Week 6 against the New Orleans Saints.

So far this season, the Saints rank 30th in passing success rate allowed and 26th in passing EPA per play allowed. Outside of decent pass-rushing production from edge defender Chase Young, their pass defense has struggled to perform.

New Orleans doesn't have a top cornerback to put on Nabers. Their starting outside cornerbacks are currently Kool-Aid McKinstry and Quincy Riley. Neither player is going to keep Jameis Winston from targeting his top wideout.

Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy has found creative ways to get favorable matchups for Nabers this season, and he'll continue to do so against the Saints. This could be another elite performance for the New York wideout.
