As veteran receiver Odell Beckham Jr. continues teasing a potential 2026 comeback, Malik Nabers made it clear he wants the three-time Pro Bowler to join him on the New York Giants.

Beckham, who spent his first five seasons with the Giants, shared several pictures on Instagram from last weekend’s Fanatics Flag Football Classic. The 33-year-old turned heads with a viral one-handed catch, not unlike the one he famously made against the Cowboys during his 2014 rookie season.

“Let’s play together!” Nabers commented. As of publication, Beckham had not responded to Nabers’ comment. Giants pass-rusher Brian Burns was also among those who liked the post.

Beckham has not played since December 2024. Despite publicly revealing that he talked to Aaron Rodgers about joining the Steelers last summer, Beckham remained unsigned, perhaps in part because he served a six-game suspension following a positive drug test.

Could the Giants realistically sign Odell Beckham Jr.?

Although Beckham’s name alone still resonates with football fans, it’s hard to envision him realistically contributing to a team next year. He hasn’t been a truly game-changing receiver since 2019, and his last productive season was as a 31-year-old with the Ravens three years ago.

If teams still believed in Beckham, one has to believe he would have at least earned a training camp invite at some point last year. Instead, when we last saw Beckham, he was being waived after catching nine passes for 55 yards in nine games with the Dolphins in 2024.

At no point this offseason have the Giants been credibly linked to Beckham, and there is no reason for them to bring him back unless he intends to sign a one-day contract and retire with the organization. The Giants signed Darnell Mooney and Calvin Austin III this offseason, and Nabers could be ready for training camp after missing most of last year with a knee injury.

Jauan Jennings, Stefon Diggs, and Deebo Samuel headline the top remaining free agent receivers, though Diggs has pending legal issues that could complicate his situation. Additionally, the Giants can always target a receiver with one of their late-round draft picks. The Giants currently own five Day 3 selections, including three in the sixth round.

If we’ve seen the last of Beckham, he’ll retire with 575 catches, 7,987 yards, and 59 touchdowns over 10 seasons with five teams. He trails only Amani Toomer on the Giants’ all-time leading receiving yards list.
