After just four games, Malik Nabers’ second season is officially over. In Week 4, the star receiver tore his ACL against the Los Angeles Chargers. Because of the devastating injury, the New York Giants couldn’t even fully enjoy their first win of the season, and Jaxson Dart winning the first start of his career. Everyone was instead worried about the status of the team’s best offensive player.

With Nabers having to wait until Monday morning for an MRI to make the news official, the receiver didn’t make a statement until the injury was confirmed. Once it was, Nabers took to Instagram to share a short, but heartbreaking message. He simply said, “I’m sorry,” with a head down and broken heart emoji. The receiver signed things off with the Bible verse Isaiah 41:10, and prayer hands.

Malik Nabers apologizes after devastating knee injury

Nabers certainly has nothing to apologize for; this is an unfortunate situation, outside of his control, that happened to him. As he navigates the tough journey ahead, he makes it clear that he will be leaning on his faith. Isaiah 41:10 reads, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

Now, the receiver will have surgery and attack the journey of rehabbing back to full strength. While he does that, the Giants will figure out how to turn things around without him. New York was able to pull off the upset on Sunday, but things will be tough for rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and the Giants offense without Nabers in the lineup.

While New York navigates that challenge, everyone will hope for a speedy, and complete recovery for Malik Nabers, so he can return to the lineup in dominant fashion next season, and get his promising career back on track.
