There's a lot to be excited about for the New York Giants this offseason. Although it is only the preseason, the G-Men have impressed in two games against the Bills and Jets, which should have Big Blue fans hyped for what is to come this season.
While the offense is much improved this offseason and has undoubtedly been a storyline, we're looking at you, Jaxson Dart, the defense has created issues for opponents (just ask the Jets), which could be a sneak peek as to what Big Blue fans could expect this year.
There’s nothing better than hearing an opposing head coach admit in his post-game press conference that his offense struggled — it means Big Blue's defense did everything right. This past weekend, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn gave Giants fans that exact reason to smile.
Aaron Glenn's comments give Giants fans every reason to be excited
During Glenn's post-game press conference following Gang Green's 31-12 loss to the G-Men on Saturday night, he called his team's starting offense "sloppy" and "not good enough."
"Overall, in general, we weren't good enough. I don't care if it was the starting offense, I don't care if it was the second team offense, the third team offense."

The first-year head coach emphasized that it doesn't matter if it was the starting offense, second-team, or third-team; they have to be better. While it is just the preseason and the product that was put on the field on Saturday night may not be the final result, it has to feel rewarding for defensive coordinator Shane Bowen and the Giants' defense.
The team limited Justin Fields to completing 1-of-5 passes for four yards and rushing for just five yards. No Jets quarterback finished above 60 percent completion percentage for the game.
While everyone has continuously talked about the Giants' pass rush unit this offseason, Big Blue's secondary stood out the most on defense this time around, and surprisingly, the front seven really didn't show up.
Veteran safety Dane Belton led the way for the G-Men with seven total tackles (three solo), including four in the first quarter alone. While Belton won't necessarily be one of the starting safeties come Week 1, he continues to make a case for making the 53-man roster.
Rookie safety Makari Paige had the only takeaway from the game with a third-quarter interception off Jets backup quarterback Adrian Martinez; the first-year defensive back finished with three total tackles (one solo). Paige could also be a candidate to make the final roster when camp ends.
The Giants' defense continues to show us every week how much they've improved, specifically the secondary, which was one of the worst in the league last year.
Hopefully, Big Blue’s strong showing against the Jets and Aaron Glenn’s postgame comments provide the spark to carry the G-Men into their final preseason game Thursday night at home against the Patriots, and into the regular season as well.
