Giants deliver Malik Nabers the perfect QB in new 2025 mock draft
Watching the 2024 NYew York Giants offense has been — to put it frankly — agonizing for Big Blue fans. Brian Daboll’s squad ranks in the bottom 10 in points per game and yards per game, scoring a league-worst 19 offensive touchdowns across 12 contests.
Following a disappointing 6-11 finish a year ago when the team alternated between three quarterbacks under center, it didn’t seem possible for NY’s offensive struggles to worsen. But the Daniel Jones fiasco and everything Saquon Barkley’s Eagles are doing down the turnpike in Philadelphia make it all the more frustrating.
G-Men fans have spent years yearning for a franchise savior. While many hoped Malik Nabers would fill that role, his impact has been limited by subpar quarterback play. In the latest 2025 NFL Mock Draft from The Ringer, Danny Kelly projects the Giants to address this issue by selecting one of the most talented quarterbacks in the class to pair with Nabers.
Malik Nabers and Cam Ward would be a lethal duo in NY
Ward, who previously spent time at Incarnate Word and Washington State, has budded into a superstar at Miami. He has led the Hurricanes to a 10-2 record, throwing for 4,123 yards and 36 touchdowns, earning ACC Player of the Year honors.
Even Nabers, whose tremendous talent practically makes him “quarterback-proof,” struggled to find his footing with Jones after the initial stages of the season. He might be able to unlock his full potential with another young stud at the helm. "If he can feed 2024 first-round pick receiver Malik Nabers and take care of the football better than Jones ever did, Ward will give the Giants a shot at competing in the NFC East once again," Kelly wrote.
Other potential draft picks that have surfaced in recent weeks include Shedeur Sanders and Jalen Milroe. Sanders, the son of Hall of Fame defensive back and current Colorado Buffaloes coach Deion, is a prolific passer who has been in close contact with Joe Schoen all year. Meanwhile, Milroe remains among the most dangerous dual-threat quarterbacks in college football and is having another electric campaign at Alabama.
Ward would undeniably become the face of football in the Big Apple the second he stepped foot in town. Questions regarding whether Ward will be enough to rally NY’s rudderless offense will persist, but the Giants would get their franchise QB and a fearless leader if this mock draft came true.
