It took just one game for New York Giants fans to press the panic button on the season.

After laying an egg in their Week 1 loss to the Washington Commanders, it’s already looking like another nightmare campaign for Big Blue. The offense failed to find any rhythm, one of the team’s best players was visibly frustrated, and the defense gave up far too many chunk plays. Things couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start.

While there’s still a lot of football left for the G-Men to right the ship, where do they rank among the rest of the NFL after such a dreadful opening effort?

Bleacher Report’s Giants ranking is as ugly as their Week 1 performance

In a new article for Bleacher Report, NFL analysts ranked all 32 teams after Week 1. When it came time to place the Giants, Moe Moton had no hesitation — Big Blue checked in near the bottom at No. 28.

"The New York Giants gave us little to discuss following their loss to the Washington Commanders. Russell Wilson completed just 46 percent of his passes, and he led the ground attack with 44 rushing yards," Moton wrote. "Malik Nabers still posted solid numbers, catching five passes for 71 yards, but you wonder what his stat line would look like with Jaxson Dart under center."

It was a truly unimpressive showing by the Giants on Sunday, and now the calls for Dart to take over as the team’s starter are only growing louder, despite earlier pleas for patience with the rookie quarterback. With how Wilson played against Washington and how flat the Giants looked overall, this low ranking feels completely justified.

After what was seen as a widely successful offseason between the draft and free agency, the vibes around this team were supposed to shift... finally. But Sunday’s performance against a division rival wasn’t a promising sign.

Now, as they prepare for another tough divisional road test this Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys (a team they haven't beaten since 2020 and in Dallas since 2016), Big Blue could end up dropping further in the power rankings if they start 0-2.
