With the 2024 campaign finally behind us, it's time for the New York Giants to focus on 2025. After the franchise's worst season in team history this year, you would think next season would bring many significant changes. However, the Giants are staying put with their leadership at the top, and some fans have had enough.

On Monday morning, the Giants released a statement from team president and owner John Mara stating the team will retain general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll for 2025.

The news left many in utter shock and questioning the Giants' future, like Dave Rothenberg, a lifelong Giants fan and radio host of DiPietro and Rothenberg on ESPN New York 98.7 FM, who criticized Mara for this decision.

On the other hand, a few were in favor of this move, like former Giants quarterback and future Hall of Famer Eli Manning, who told Good Morning Football that three years is not enough time and you have to give Schoen and Daboll time to bring the right players in via the NFL Draft and free agency.

Not only are the Giants coming off their worst season in history, finishing 3-14, but New York is 18-32-1 since Schoen and Daboll took over three years ago. Fans are expressing their frustrations with Mara for keeping them around for a fourth year. However, this time, they aren’t flying planes over MetLife Stadium. Instead, they are letting the organization know how they feel about the news on X:

As you can see from the posts above, many Giants fans have lost faith in the team’s direction and are not too thrilled about Mara retaining Schoen and Daboll. It would make sense to see changes immediately after a tumultuous season like this one, which is entirely understandable.

Since Tom Coughlin left the Giants in 2015, the team has had four different head coaches, so stability could be beneficial. Giants fans must hope that New York will hire a franchise quarterback this offseason and help Big Blue return to its winning ways.

The Giants brought Daboll in because of his offensive mindset and his resume of developing young quarterbacks as a coach at his previous stops, including Jalen Hurts, Tua Tagovailoa, and Josh Allen. The Giants’ priority will be to select a quarterback for Daboll at the NFL Draft in April, where they will have the No. 3 overall pick.
