It’s been just under two weeks since John Harbaugh had his first draft as head coach of the New York Giants, but it’s still worth talking about because of the talent that Big Blue was able to acquire.

Just to run through it again, the G-Men had seven picks, all of which addressed significant needs that the Giants had going into the draft, but the biggest names included Arvell Reese, Francis Mauigoa, Colton Hood, and Malachi Fields.

The draft is always hit or miss since you never really know how a prospect is going to eventually pan out, but you have to hope that the G-Men made the right decisions when they were on the clock. Big Blue, for the most part, has received positive reviews of their 2026 draft class, including our very own, who gave the Giants an impressive A- grade.

FanSided's Mike Luciano gives the New York Giants' Draft an A-

FanSided's Mike Luciano reacted to the selections and gave the team an A- grade. He stated that when you have two picks in the Top-10, it’s easy to get a high grade, and they addressed exactly what they needed to with them:

Luc discussed Reese, saying that the Giants being able to get the 20-year-old at No. 5 was a “homerun or grand slam of a pick,” even though there was a debate about drafting him or David Bailey, who went second overall to the Jets.

The difference is that Reese can play anywhere on the field, and Luciano believes he will have a long NFL career. He said that he can see him having a ten-year career, and now he’s even more ecstatic that he will get to play for Harbaugh and the other elite talent in the team’s front seven.

The draft expert continued to break down Big Blue’s haul and spoke on Mauigoa, where he said he loved the fit for New York. He’s not wrong, as the former Miami offensive lineman will slide in perfectly at right guard next to Jermaine Eluemunor and should be a huge factor in improving New York’s run-blocking up front.

The only pick Luciano wasn’t crazy about, which prevented the Giants from getting an A+ grade, was Fields -- Big Blue’s third-round selection. He said that the former Notre Dame wide receiver understands why they added a wideout, especially after adding Hood in the second round; however, there are concerns about Fields’ speed and ability to separate against NFL athletes, which may come back to bite the Giants.

Overall, I think it’s safe to say the Giants had a productive draft and got everything they needed. Let’s hope the newest members of the G-Men have a great training camp and, by Week 1, we start to see the results pan out for this franchise.
