The New York Giants are heading into the most important offseason in literal decades. Luckily, there aren't too many free agents the Giants couldn't overcome losing (unlike last year... Saquon!). Despite an abysmal 3-14 season, there is some talent on this roster, and the best the G-Men have to offer are ready to come back stronger than ever in 2025.

The good news is improvement is almost guaranteed because it'll be very tough for to one-up the worst season in franchise history. Never count out general manager Joe Schoen, though. He's full of surprises. There are a few names who have been with Big Blue for a minute but might look to cash in elsewhere. The biggest names to monitor will be Azeez Ojulari, Darius Slayton, and Adoree' Jackson.

With a number of players to potentially replace and limited cap space, Schoen and Co. will need to do everything he can to make this team competitive. His job depends on it. Here's a rundown of every Giants free agent and what we can expect moving forward.

Quarterbacks

Player name

Age in 2025 season

2024 contract AAV

2025 team

Drew Lock

28

$5.00M

TBD

Tommy DeVito (ERFA)

27

$832K

Giants

Tim Boyle

30

$1.13M

TBD

It's only right we start with the quarterback room. What a disaster. The Giants have an immediate need to upgrade this situation. Drew Lock and Tim Boyle are as good as gone. They will not be returning, and they'll test the market. DeVito, on the other hand, will be back with Big Blue, barring anything outrageous. Expect the Giants to sign and draft their top-two quarterbacks on the depth chart this offseason, respectively.

Wide Receivers

Player name

Age in 2025 season

2024 contract AAV

2025 team

Darius Slayton

28

$6.00M

TBD

Ihmir Smith-Marsette

25

$1.05M

TBD

Gunner Olszewski

28

$1.29M

TBD

Malik Nabers is a superstar and needs someone to complement his game. Unfortunately, his running mate won't be found here. Slayton is the biggest name on the offensive side of the ball, and he's been projected a contract worth roughly $16 million per season. Yikes. Slayton can take that hefty contract elsewhere while the Giants look for a legitimate WR2 option. Meanwhile, Marsette and Olszewski are better special teams players than receivers and that might just tell you all you need to know about their free agency outcome.

Tight Ends

Player name

Age in 2025 season

2024 contract AAV

2025 team

Chris Manhertz

33

$1.37M

Giants

The tight end room for the G-Men is interesting. Theo Johnson and Daniel Bellinger are two young, interesting options, leaving Manhertz as the odd man out. Manhertz will be 33 years old next year, and he has 301 receiving yards in 137 games... you do the math.

Offensive Linemen

Player name

Age in 2025 season

2024 contract AAV

2025 team

Chris Hubbard

34

$1.20M

TBD

Aaron Stinnie

31

$1.29M

TBD

Greg Van Roten

35

$2.00M

TBD

Let them walk! For real, the Giants need help across the line, and none of these guys figure to play a role in the "let's bring them back" club. There is a case to be made for Van Roten, but he feels more like a "break glass in case of emergency" option. The Giants must address the O-line this offseason. It's been organizational malfeasence ignoring this glaring roster hole for so long. It needs to be addressed. The draft is heavy on interior offensive linemen, and a day two or three round pick and a veteran signed to a minimum contract might be preferable over any of these three.

Defensive Linemen

Player name

Age in 2025 season

2024 contract AAV

2025 team

Armon Watts

29

$1.13M

TBD

Fortunately for the Giants, they don't have many defensive linemen leaving. Unfortunately, it's still a weakness they need to address this offseason. The draft has tons of interior linemen who could pair well with Dexter Lawrence, allowing Watts the freedom to explore his free-agent market. It feels unlikely New York will opt to retain him. If they release Rakeem Nunez-Roches to save money, Watts could be a play to bring back.

Linebackers

Player name

Age in 2025 season

2024 contract AAV

2025 team

Matthew Adams

29

$1.29M

TBD

Patrick Johnson

26

$896K

TBD

Azeez Ojulari

25

$1.69M

TBD

Isaiah Simmons

27

$2.00M

TBD

Ty Summers

29

$1.13M

TBD

Tomon Fox (ERFA)

27

$915K

TBD

Dyontae Johnson (ERFA)

24

$795K

TBD

The linebacker position is interesting. Brian Burns, Bobby Okereke, Micah McFadden, and Kayvon Thibodeaux are a unit. However, with the upcoming free agency period, their depth could take a severe hit. Isaiah Simmons didn't pan out in New York, and he's been outwardly frustrated with his role, so he'll likely be gone. Azeez Ojulari will be 25 and showed signs of being a pretty good pass rusher before injuries cut his time with the Giants short. Expect him to sign a lucrative long-term contract this offseason with another team.

Defensive Backs

Player name

Age in 2025 season

2024 contract AAV

2025 team

Adoree' Jackson

29

$1.75M

TBD

Jason Pinnock

26

$937K

TBD

Elijah Riley

27

$1.13M

TBD

Greg Stroman Jr.

29

$1.13M

TBD

Divaad Wilson (ERFA)

25

$915K

TBD

It's time for the Giants to rid themselves of their CB1 problem. Adoree' Jackson ain't it and it's time to accept that and move on. He'll likely sign elsewhere this offseason, which leaves a pretty big hole for Schoen to fill. Aside from Jackson, Jason Pinnock is a name to watch as well. He's a serviceable safety, and a short-term contract could be a solid play for the G-Men.

Specialists

Player name

Age in 2025 season

2024 contract AAV

Jamie Gillan

28

$2.00M

Giants

Casey Kreiter

35

$1.37M

Giants

Not much to say here. The Giants should re-sign Gillan at a good price and keep him as the punter for the foreseeable future. Kreiter has signed a one-year deal to remain with the Giants.
