The New York Giants quarterback situation was already layered. Between Russell Wilson’s one-year deal, Jaxson Dart’s long-term potential, and Jameis Winston’s place as the reliable veteran in the middle, the room seemed settled... if not a bit crowded.

But if you're New Orleans Saints edge rusher Cam Jordan, there's a clear way to thin out the herd.

In a recent appearance on the Up & Adams podcast with Kay Adams, the 15-year Jordan made a semi-surprising suggestion when asked who he’d want to see leading New Orleans’ quarterback room this season. After laughing off ideas like Matt Ryan and Kirk Cousins, Jordan casually floated a name that caught plenty of people off guard.

“There’s Russell [Wilson] over there. They got Jaxson Dart,” Jordan said. “My guy, Jameis. Come on down.

I’m going all in. Jameis as a veteran quarterback, come on over.”

Cam Jordan wants Jameis Winston back in New Orleans

There’s always been mutual respect between Jordan and Winston. They spent four seasons together in New Orleans and Jordan has never been shy about praising Winston’s leadership and energy — even when Winston was sidelined or providing backup duties to Derek Carr.

Jordan's response felt like a guy who has been stewing on this idea for weeks rather than randomly coming up with Famous Jameis on the spot.

Jordan's public pitch to bring him back to New Orleans isn't as farfetched as it might seem. The Saints’ quarterback room is a massive question mark built around rookie Tyler Shough and second-year passers Spencer Rattler and Jake Haener, a group with super limited NFL experience and no clear leader. Winston, in Jordan’s eyes, would bring familiarity, leadership, and a steady presence.

He'd also be a culture warrior who would immediately bring life to a seemingly lifeless offense.

The G-Men likely took notice. Winston is on a two-year deal, but with Wilson on a one-year pact and Dart waiting behind him, New York may not see long-term use in holding onto three capable quarterbacks. If Winston’s trade value jumps — even modestly — it could prompt the Giants to listen. Especially if they believe Dart’s development won’t hinge on Winston’s day-to-day mentorship.

Jordan’s comments won’t spark a trade tomorrow, but they might’ve set the wheels in motion. In a league where QB depth falls apart quickly (just ask the Saints), shoutouts like that usually mean something.
