You may not realize it because of the off-field nose that's followed him all offseason long, but Jaxson Dart still has his fair share of fans in NFL circles. Dart had a promising rookie year with New York Giants, but because of injuries to the supporting cast, has yet to scratch the surface of his potential.

The 23-year-old evidently has a bright future entering Year 2. And now Dart is playing behind a better offensive line, has a superior play-caller in Matt Nagy, and New York added pass-catching juice among the likes of Isaiah Likely, Darnell Mooney, and third-round rookie Malachi Fields this offseason.

And now another former NFL QB is joining the fan club. On an episode of Home Grown with Derek Carr and his brother--former No. 1 overall pick and Giants' backup QB David Carr--they went over a study of film from Dart's rookie season, where the younger Carr brother sung the praises of J6.

""I love everything there is to love about him. I love him as a football player. Love him.""
Derek Carr

Carr listed Dart's athletic ability, toughness, his arm strength, and his ability to thrive in the elements as aspects of his game that he loves. And it's that aforementioned toughness that for as much as Giants fans love and appreciate it, they know he has to tone it back in order to stay healthy in 2026.

The four-time Pro Bowler enjoyed his fair share of success. In just 11 NFL seasons and less than 200 starts, he surpassed more than 40,000 passing yards and 250 passing touchdowns. So his endorsement counts. And his big brother won a ring as a member of Big Blue back in 2011.

However, he did make it clear that there are things he thinks the 2025 first-round pick needs to work on, like pushing the ball downfield. But that was more of a systemic issue. Once Malik Nabers went down, the only deep threat of a weapon he had was Wan'Dale Robinson. Now he has Mooney, Fields, Likely, and Calvin Austin. That's a night-and-day upgrade from Jalin Hyatt.

There's always a fear of the dreaded sophomore slump with the Ole Miss product, but neither Carr brother is worried about that. They actually think he'll get better in Year 2, as the offense is much more structurally sound under John Harbaugh, and they know that will only help Dart's development.

He's The Dart Knight. He's not the hero East Rutherford needs, but the one they deserve. So even though Cam Ward and Tyler Shough have been more talked about, David and Derek Carr know that a Year 2 breakout for Jaxson Dart will be special.
