It's clear the New York Giants need a lot of help at several positions and will be looking to upgrade their roster as much as possible this offseason after the team's worst season in franchise history. One of the areas where Big Blue needs the most help is in their secondary, specifically at the cornerback position.

While Joe Schoen will look to improve the defensive back position via the draft or free agency, one Giants player tried to recruit one of the league's best cornerbacks on X on Tuesday, which had Big Blue fans buzzing about the potential of New York's secondary in 2025.

Following a loss to the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Divisional Round, Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey noted that there could be some roster turnover this offseason in Baltimore. Giants offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor noticed the two-time All-Pro cornerback's post and quote-tweeted it, saying he heard Humphrey wanted to play in New York.

Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons replied to Eluemunor, "You really pitching to someone who has Lamar?!" Eluemunor responded to Parsons' tweet, saying he was just trying to shoot his shot and wants to win next season, which can only make Giants fans happy.

Humphrey responded to Eluemunor's initial tweet by jokingly asking who his source was. The Ravens cornerback didn’t confirm or deny that he would be open to playing in New York. Eluemunor replied to Humphrey, saying he saw the vision of him playing for the Giants and that Humphrey would put up numbers opposite Dru Phillips in New York's secondary in 2025.

While it’s unclear if the four-time Pro Bowler will return to Baltimore for the 2025 season, the opportunity for Big Blue to spearhead their rebuild with a player like Humphrey is something the Giants cannot pass up on if they get the chance. The veteran defensive back would be a perfect fit in New York.

Marlon Humphrey would be a significant upgrade to the Giants' secondary in 2025

While Humphrey won’t be a free agent until 2027 and still has two more seasons under contract, he could hit the open market if the Baltimore Ravens look to free up salary cap space and bring in new free agents this offseason.

Humphrey has recorded 440 tackles, 15 QB hits, six sacks, 15 forced fumbles, 91 passes defended, 19 interceptions, and one defensive touchdown in eight seasons with Baltimore. The Giants would make sense as an ideal destination for the 28-year-old cornerback, especially after New York has failed to develop second-year defensive back Deonte Banks and could use the help in their secondary.

Eluemunor may be onto something. If the Giants can land Humphrey, Schoen should seriously consider promoting the Giants' offensive lineman to New York's front office.
