Myles Garrett’s trade request has turned the NFL world upside down, but while fans are busy speculating on where he’ll land, one New York Giants player already has a sinking feeling about it. Offensive lineman Jermaine Eluemunor took to social media to react, and his gut instinct isn’t exactly reassuring for Big Blue.
Eluemunor tweeted, “Have a gut feeling me and AT bout to play Myles twice a year lol.” By “AT,” he meant Andrew Thomas, and by “Myles,” he obviously meant the reigning Defensive Player of the Year potentially joining the NFC East. And let’s be real—he wasn't talking about the Philadelphia Eagles or Dallas Cowboys. He most likely sees Washington as the most likely landing spot, which would be pretty terrible news for the Giants.

Eluemunor’s reaction was funny. At the same time, it was a man mentally preparing for tough days ahead. Because if Garrett does end up with the Commanders, the Giants’ offensive line will have its hands full in a way that should make head coach Brian Daboll and defensive coordinator Shane Bowen very uncomfortable.
Jermaine Eluemunor moonlights as a psychic
The Commanders have the cap space and assets to make a serious run at Garrett. And unlike teams in the AFC, who would be in Cleveland's way to a Super Bowl run, Washington can offer a deal without strengthening a direct competitor. If you connect the dots, it’s easy to see why Eluemunor has a bad feeling about this.
Washington is already building something dangerous. They just wrapped up a season where they made the NFC Championship Game with a rookie quarterback. Their defense has some stars along the front seven already. And under head coach Dan Quinn, new ownership, and an aggressive front office (that John Mara didn't deem fit to be in New York), they're not going to sit back and watch the Eagles run the division without a fight.
If they land Garrett, suddenly, they have a legitimate "best defensive line in football" argument consisting of Garrett, Daron Payne, and Jonathan Allen. Big Blue can only hope to contain that terrible time twice a year.
Unfortunately, the Giants’ offensive line hasn't exactly been its strong suit. Andrew Thomas is one of the best tackles in the league when healthy, but Evan Neal has struggled mightily, and Eluemunor himself is expected to battle for the starting right tackle job. Now imagine throwing Myles Garrett into the mix on Washington’s defensive front.
Eluemunor’s gut feeling might not be anything official, but if Washington pulls this off, it could change the entire balance of power in the NFC East. The Giants are already trying to rebuild their offense, possibly with a rookie quarterback, and now they might have to deal with one of the most dominant pass rushers ever, hunting them down twice a year.
If Eluemunor turns out to be right, the Giants’ offensive line better be ready for a not-so-fun time.
