The New York Giants have spent the better part of the last few years at the center of ceaseless trade rumors surrounding former No. 5 overall pick Kayvon Thibodeaux. Considering how he hasn't lived up to the hype and his long-term replacement in Abdul Carter was already drafted, it makes sense as to why he is seen as a natural trade candidate.

While having a player of Thibodeaux's caliber makes for exceptional depth on the defensive line, and he did play a good chunk of snaps for the Giants last season, they might be wiser to get a pick of some value for a player that in all likelihood is not going to be given a long-term contract extension.

As such, teams across the league have spent the better part of the last few years trying to figure out if there is a deal to be made. ESPN's collection of insiders is stumped, as they were all over the map in trying to concoct hypothetical trades for the ex-Oregon star.

Jeremy Fowler and Seth Walder believe the Giants could land a third-round pick for Thibodeaux in the right circumstance, while Ben Solak thinks he is only worth a fourth-rounder and Dan Graziano has him pegged as a fifth-rounder on the open market. In brief, no one seems to know where the league is with regard to his value.

ESPN NFL insiders split on New York Giants EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux's trade value

The best trade for the Giants in ESPN's exercise would be Walder's deal, which sends him to the Los Angeles Rams along with a sixth-round pick in exchange for a third-rounder in 2028. Fowler sent Thibodeaux to the Saints, who were rumored to have some interest in him around the NFL Draft, for a third in 2027.

Solak's deal pairs him with George Karlaftis on the Kansas City Chiefs with a fourth-round pick coming back to New York, while Graziano has the New England Patriots using the leftover fifth-round pick from the Garrett Bradbury trade to acquire him. However, the general consensus is that

Thibodeaux is a very weird player to evaluate. While he is certainly a disappointment for someone picked No. 5 overall, he is by no means a bad player and has a double-digit sack season under his belt.

Thibodeaux is likely going to fetch some sort of desirable asset if John Harbaugh eventually gets tired of the endless rumors, and there should be. fairly healthy collection of teams trying to make a play for him.
