As sad as this is to admit, the New York Giants' rivalry with the Dallas Cowboys has really been anything but over the last eight seasons. The Cowboys have flat-out dominated the G-Men, winning all but one game since the 2017 season began. That was Dak Prescott's second year in the league after the Cowboys spent a fourth-round pick on the Mississippi State quarterback in 2016.
Prescott's rookie year is the last time the Giants beat the Cowboys franchise quarterback too, as shocking as that might be to believe. While the Giants have defeated Dallas since then (late in the 2020 season, to be exact), Prescott missed all but five games that year and was not the Cowboys starting signal-caller for that Giants victory.
Again, that means that the New York Giants have not defeated a Dak Prescott-led Cowboys team since he was a rookie nine years ago. That's insane!
To put things into perspective, just look at how crazy different the Giants' roster was the last time New York beat Prescott.

Looking back at the last Giants roster to beat Dak Prescott is shocking
To recap, the Giants still had Eli Manning as their quarterback the last time this team beat Prescott. His starting running back was Rashad Jennings in his last NFL season. His wide receivers were Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz, who retired following the 2016 season. Will Tye was the tight end and he played his last regular season snap in 2017.
On the offensive line, the Giants were still hoping the Ereck Flowers experiment would work out (it did not). Marshall Newhouse hasn't been in the league since 2020, Weston Richburg and John Jerry since 2019, and Bobby Hart since 2022.
The fact that none of these players are in the league anymore isn't shocking since the last win over Prescott was nearly a decade ago but it sure puts things into perspective. As Anthony Rivardo said in that X post, "Enough is enough. Beat the Cowboys."
