The 2025 NFL Draft is officially in the books, and somehow, the New York Giants still aren’t finished. Joe Schoen and the front office made nine picks across the three-day marathon, loading up on premium talent at edge rusher, quarterback, wide receiver, running back, and more.
You’d think seven new rookies would be enough to call it a day, but apparently not. The Giants hit the ground running once the draft wrapped, attacking the undrafted free-agent market with the same urgency they showed all weekend. If there’s one thing Schoen has made clear during this past draft, it’s that he’s not going to leave any stone unturned when it comes to doing whatever he can to build a more competitive roster.
The G-Men have a strong history of undrafted players making real impacts. Just last season, multiple UDFAs earned practice squad spots and some even saw the field late in the year. It’s part of the blueprint—turn depth questions into depth answers by finding a few diamonds in the rough.
With several needs still lingering at wide receiver, offensive line, linebacker, and special teams, the Giants wasted no time lining up their first wave of post-draft additions.

One of the more interesting prospects the Giants scooped up after the draft is wide receiver Jordan Bly out of Gardner-Webb. Bly, the son of former NFL cornerback Dre’ Bly, brings legit 4.3 speed, polished route running, and NFL pedigree to the table. He’s a little undersized at 5-foot-10, 170 pounds, but his explosiveness and strong pro day turned heads. If he can flash in camp and carve out a special teams role early, he could end up being a sneaky-good addition to this roster.
Another name to watch is safety Makari Paige out of Michigan. Paige is a big (6-foot-4) defensive back who started for the Wolverines during their national title run. He isn’t the flashiest athlete, but he’s smart, physical, and knows how to play within a system. If he shows enough on special teams and as a depth piece, he could easily stick around past the summer.
And if you’re looking for a pure upside lottery ticket, keep an eye on Trace Ford from Oklahoma. Ford flashed real pass-rush juice early in his college career before injuries slowed him down. He’s athletic, explosive, and has the kind of natural talent you gamble on with UDFAs. If he can stay healthy, Ford could find a way onto the back end of the roster as a developmental edge rusher.
- Jordan Bly: Speedy deep threat, good bloodlines, sleeper pick
- Makari Paige: Big, smart safety with real college production
- Trace Ford: High-upside pass rusher with NFL traits if he can stay healthy
The Giants aren’t done retooling and uncovering hidden gems. We will continue to update the G-Men’s UDFA signings as they break.
