It’s hard to ignore how impressive the Giants’ rookie class has been this summer in training camp and the preseason, especially under John Harbaugh.
Through two preseason games, Big Blue fans have seen all seven of the G-Men’s first-year players play, and all have made significant strides in their development.
Obviously, there are high expectations for them to succeed in the NFL immediately, especially under a coach like Harbaugh, but it may take time. Fortunately, it’s not just the Giants who see the potential and talent in this group; the rookies also got well-deserved national recognition.

Bleacher Report recently published its Top 99 NFL rookie rankings for 2026, and four of Big Blue’s first-year players cracked the list. If that doesn’t get you fired up for this franchise's future, I don’t know what will.
The first Giants rookie to crack the list was offensive lineman Francis Mauigoa, the 10th overall pick out of Miami, who was ranked as the 10th-best rookie on the list.
Sisi is expected to be New York’s starting right guard alongside Jermaine Eluemunor, despite suffering a minor injury during Big Blue’s recent joint practice with the Dolphins, has had an impressive summer. Fortunately, Mauigoa was okay and returned to practice this week.
Arvell Reese, the fifth overall pick out of Ohio State, is the 13th-best rookie on Bleacher Report’s Top 99 rookie rankings, making him the next Giants rookie to crack the list.
The soon-to-be 21-year-old linebacker is expected to have a huge role in Dennard Wilson’s defense and will have the opportunity to learn from some of the best pass rushers in the league, including Brian Burns, Tremaine Edmunds, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Abdul Carter.
Although he had a quiet performance in the Giants’ recent 26-3 preseason victory over the Dolphins with just one total tackle, NFL Network’s Brian Baldinger is already impressed with him in a recent video breaking down that tackle, saying, “It’s gonna be fun,” watching him in his rookie campaign.
The Giants’ third-round pick out of Notre Dame, wide receiver Malachi Fields, comes in at No. 50 after standing out this summer throughout training camp and the preseason. Still, his breakout game came two weeks ago against the Vikings, when he finished with three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown.
Many are projecting the rookie wideout to eventually fill the WR2 role on the depth chart next season behind Malik Nabers and become a familiar red zone target for Jaxson Dart. Fields is a much-needed weapon who has earned his spot on this roster.
Second-round pick Colton Hood, a defensive back out of Tennessee, ranks as the 52nd-best rookie on Bleacher Report’s list.
He may need more time to develop in a crowded cornerback room that includes Paulson Adebo, Greg Newsome II, Deonte Banks, who has impressed this summer, and Dru Phillips.
Hood will eventually be a crucial part of what Harbaugh and Wilson are building in New York’s defensive backfield going forward and could be one of the Giants’ breakout stars this season.
Bleacher Report’s list doesn’t even include some other rookie standouts on the Giants, like sixth-round pick Jack Kelly, who led the team in tackles against the Vikings with five, and J.C. Davis, who played 81 offensive snaps at left tackle against the Dolphins.
It’s safe to say the future looks bright in New York!
