The New York Giants nearly squeaked out a victory in a wild back-and-forth affair in Dallas. Thanks to quarterback Russell Wilson, who had a near-career-high 450 yards and three touchdown tosses, he put the team on his back to bring this team to an even 1-1 on the season.

Unfortunately, due to mental errors from the entirety of the team in terms of penalties and lackluster defensive play-calling, it just wasn't meant to be. But, there was a small victory for Wilson's stock on this team, and standing amongst the rest of the NFL's QB group.

According to NFL Spin Zone's Lou Scataglia, Wilson has shot up the QB power rankings from his week one mishap. Despite the loss, it seems like things are going in the right direction for the former Walter Payton Award winner.

Russell Wilson quietly climbs QB rankings after bounce-back performance

After week one, in which Wilson finished 17 for 37 through the air, with a measly 168 yards of gain, he rebounded nicely in Big D. We all knew that the injury to Cowboys corner DaRon Bland was going to open up the 1-2 punch of wide receivers Malik Nabers and Wan'Dale Robinson, but no one could have predicted that kind of explosion.

Fueled by the pressure put on by Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott and their offense, Wilson had to pull out all the stops to try and keep the G-Men in the game. That included airing it out a number of times to a streaking receiver and hoping for a win in the one-on-one battle for the jump ball.

Looking at the rest of the power rankings, Wilson is sitting between Arizona quarterback Kyler Murray at no.13 and Tampa Bay QB Baker Mayfield at no.11. That is some great company to be between, as both are having fantastic seasons, leading their team to at least a victory in the early going.

But one thing that is missing from the 36-year-old future Hall-of-Famer's resume this season is a win. In an alternate universe, had the Giants picked up that frenzied win against Dallas, Wilson might be a part of the top-10 as of now.
