Giants well-represented in top-100 NFL player list (but there's a brutal catch)

Hmmm...

After years of dysfunction, it does finally feel like the New York Giants are on the right track. There is no such thing as a perfect offseason, but teams can do a lot worse than hiring John Harbaugh as their next head coach, for example.

With a proven winner at head coach, an active free agency improving the roster, and an encouraging young quarterback with the potential to make a jump in year two, it might not be long before the Giants are looked at as one of the up-and-coming teams in this league.

But beyond that, while the roster isn't yet finished, it's clear who the best players are on the team. It's the time of the year when player ranking lists are beginning to dominate headlines, and the latest player ranking does give credit to a few Giants players in particular.

New York Giants with three players in latest NFL Top 100 List for the 2026 season

The Giants had three players appearing in Pete Prisco's Top 100 NFL Players list for 2026:

56. Brian Burns, EDGE
83. Andrew Thomas, OT
99. Malik Nabers, WR

The highest-ranked Giants player on this list is Burns, but 56th does seem a bit low, as he had a career-high 16.5 sacks and 31 quarterback hits in 2025, which was good for a Pro Bowl and second-team All-Pro nod. Just based on how few players see both a Pro Bowl and an All-Pro in the same season, Burns' ranking should likely be a bit higher.

Thomas hasn't played a full season since his rookie year back in 2020, but he did get on the field for 13 games in 2025. Being ranked 83rd does feel rather accurate given his overall inability to consistently stay on the field, but there really aren't many left tackles better at the job than Thomas.

And just barely cracking the list, Nabers comes in at No. 99, which, honestly, feels a bit low. As a rookie in 2024, with some of the worst quarterback play in the NFL, Nabers was able to haul in 109 receptions for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns.

He did this in just 15 games, too. Not only that, but he caught over 64 percent of his targets and averaged just over 80 yards per game. In 2025, he suffered a season-ending knee injury after just four games, but in total, Nabers has caught 127 passes for 1,475 yards in just 19 career games.

Through two seasons in the league, Nabers is already averaging 114 receptions, 1,320 yards, and eight touchdowns across a full 17-game season. Being ranked 99th does feel like a bit of a slight, as Nabers has already proven to be a top-10 receiver, production-wise, when healthy.

He's only set to play in his age-23 season in 2026, which makes the future even more encouraging, especially if he returns to his old self following this knee injury.

While subjective rankings don't necessarily mean anything in the long run, fans surely want to see some of their guys represented in these lists. The Giants' three best players got onto the list, but the rankings for Burns and Nabers in particular don't really match up with the eye test.
