The New York Giants are set to enter training camp with an unsettled pecking order at wide receiver. They've added six players at the position this offseason, completely re-shaping their depth after seeing the state of the room with Malik Nabers sidelined in 2025.
With such a crowded position group entering camp, multiple recognizable names will miss out on a final roster spot. The top of the depth chart is relatively solidified, with Nabers, Darius Slayton, Calvin Austin III, Darnell Mooney, and Malachi Fields all expected to play important roles. After that, it's a free-for-all.
According to ESPN Giants reporter Jordan Raanan on a recent episode of "Breaking Big Blue," Odell Beckham Jr. is the "leader in the clubhouse" in the fight to make the roster.

Beckham Jr. may be past the best days of his NFL career, but his return to New York still made national headlines. He was the first in a wave of wide receiver signings that included veterans JuJu Smith-Schuster and Braxton Berrios.
The Giants now have ten receivers on the 90-man training camp roster who have a realistic chance to be on the squad in Week 1. The top five are locks, while Beckham Jr., Smith-Schuster, Berrios, Isaiah Hodgins, and Jalin Hyatt will battle it out for the final spots.
Last season, the G-Men only carried six receivers on their initial 53-man roster. It will be a heated competition for the last roster spot, but Beckham Jr. is the best bet in the early going.
He hasn't played a snap since Week 14 of the 2024 season, when he was with the Miami Dolphins. That season, the veteran only logged nine catches for 55 yards.
Of course, Beckham Jr. isn't the superstar receiver Giants fans remember. When he left New York in 2019, he was a lock to reach 1,000 yards when healthy. He consistently put up some of the most ridiculous highlights you'll ever see, seemingly on a weekly basis.
Since then, Beckham Jr. has gone from star to role player to depth piece. His true value in 2026 comes more from veteran leadership than it does from on-field production.
Still, he has the edge over Smith-Schuster and Berrios. A franchise legend, it would be hard to see Beckham Jr. losing out on a roster spot by the end of training camp.
