Odell Beckham Jr. is finally back and eligible to play after serving a six-game suspension for violating the league’s PED policy — that is, according to Tom Pelissero. The 33-year-old wide receiver has made it known he wants to keep playing, but so far, no interest has surfaced.

For New York Giants fans wondering whether a reunion might still be in the cards — don’t hold your breath. Beckham’s return to eligibility is mildly interesting from a storyline perspective, but it doesn’t move the needle in the slightest for where this team is at right now, which is equal parts bummer and understandable.
He’s coming off a suspension for alleged PED use. He hasn’t put together a productive season since 2019. And while he still brings name recognition, that’s about all he brings at this point in his career.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s return (unfortunately) doesn’t change anything for the Giants’ WR situation
Beckham is technically cleared to sign and suit up for any team now that his suspension is over. He’s free, available, and says he’s ready. That might sound intriguing to teams with playoff aspirations. The Giants are definitely not one of those teams.
Beckham finished last year in Miami with nine catches for 55 yards. Before that, his 2023 campaign in Baltimore was fine but unspectacular.
He hasn’t played a full season since 2019, and his role has steadily declined with every new stop. Even with the G-Men down multiple receivers — including Malik Nabers and Darius Slayton — it’s all but impossible to imagine they’d use one of their limited roster spots on a nostalgia signing.
While Big Blue is out of the OBJ sweepstakes, a few playoff-bound teams could still take a chance on him. Denver, San Francisco, Kansas City, and Los Angeles all come to mind. Each has its sights set on a deep postseason run, and if nothing else, OBJ has shown he can deliver in big moments.
There was a time when a Beckham return to New York would’ve been must-watch television. That time has long passed. He’ll probably end up on someone’s roster before the season’s end. Just don’t expect it to be in Giants blue. That's where we're at now. The G-Men are too bad to entertain an Odell reunion. And that stinks.
