If the New York Giants choose not to address offensive tackle on Day 1 in April, Day 2 could present a compelling alternative.

One of the most gifted athletes at the position in this class, Max Iheanachor used Senior Bowl week to reinforce why teams are willing to bet on upside along the offensive line -- especially when the movement skills are this advanced.

While still relatively young to the position, he’s continuing to learn the finer points of tackle play, but the foundational traits are already evident.

Max Iheanachor should be on Giants' radar after impressive Senior Bowl

On tape this fall, and in Mobile, he consistently flashed fluidity in his lower half, clean footwork, and the ability to stay square through contact. Those traits allow him to play with depth in his pass sets and mirror rushers without panicking -- an essential baseline for NFL success.

Diving deeper into the tape, there are some stylistic parallels to Andrew Thomas coming out of Georgia, particularly in how Iheanachor moves. He’s smooth rather than stiff, controlled rather than frantic, and comfortable marrying hands, eyes, and feet in unison. That coordination showed up in Mobile against power and speed rushers alike, where Iheanachor held his ground and trusted his technique, rather than overextending.

In the run game, his athletic profile pops. He can get vertical quickly, climb to the second level, and work effectively in space -- traits that fit seamlessly into wide-zone concepts and also allow an offensive playbook to expand. He’s also comfortable getting out on the perimeter, sealing 'backers, and creating lanes beyond the tackle box.

For a Giants roster entering a new era under John Harbaugh, the appeal is obvious.

Harbaugh-led teams have historically emphasized physicality up front. Adding a tackle like Iheanachor on Day 2 would align with that identity shift -- injecting high-end athleticism while also developing a young lineman who can grow within the system.

Senior Bowl week was an important checkpoint for the Arizona State product, and he passed it with flying colors. If New York is searching for value, upside, and a lineman who fits both the present vision and future build, Iheanachor is a name to circle, bold, and highlight on Day 2... if he makes it there.
