3. Micah Hyde
Another player the Giants have a connection to, Micah Hyde, is a low-cost player that could still add a lot to this team defensively, and as a whole. After six years with the Buffalo Bills, Hyde finds himself as a free agent, and honestly, it's a little surprising we haven't even seen rumors of him coming to Big Blue. Daboll and Schoen know all about Hyde as a person and player during their time spent in Buffalo. They know what a healthy Hyde could potentially bring to the team on the field and in the locker room.
If the Giants were to sign Hyde, he would immediately be the second-oldest player on the team at 33 years old, along with long snapper Casey Kreiter. The Giants are fielding a very young team, but the leadership and teaching young secondary players like Dane Belton, Jason Pinnock, and Gervarrious Owens could learn from Hyde could prove to be invaluable.
Hyde can still play at a very high level - Daboll and Schoen have to kick the tires of the veteran free agent at some point. Coach Jerome Henderson would love to have a veteran like Hyde on the field helping his young secondary out. It would be like having a coach on the field. He would go a long way towards bringing stability to the group as well.
