While it’s no secret most of the NFL improves during the first two days of the NFL Draft, it’s Day 3 where the contenders are separated from the rest of the field. Of late, the NY Giants have found that to be the hard truth. It feels like they’ve rarely found contributors during Saturday’s turn of the NFL Draft, with their impact players coming from Round 4 and beyond few and far between.

While Dave Gettleman never mastered it, Joe Schoen has thrown some interesting darts since taking over. Tight end Daniel Bellinger, safety Dane Belton and linebacker Micah McFadden were all Day 3 picks during his first draft with the Giants. With that said, could some sleepers be on the way in 2024? Here's a look at five players for fans to keep an eye on:

4. Clemson RB Will Shipley

While Clemson struggled over the last couple of seasons, Dabo Swinney doesn’t even want to think about where the Tigers would be if Will Shipley wasn't wearing orange during that time period. Shipley was the embodiment of Swinney’s style over his time with Clemson. He did it all for the Tigers, rushing and catching passes, and running with a hard-nosed attitude, not allowing anyone to stand in his way for long.

His best season came in 2022, when Shipley rushed for 1,182 yards and 15 touchdowns for Clemson. He dealt with a stacked box for much of 2023, as Clemson dealt with a transition at quarterback, causing his numbers to drop a bit during that time frame.

Regardless, the Giants would be well-served to add backs who possess potential, and can do multiple things, to their room after the departure of Saquon Barkley. Shipley would certainly represent that and then some.
