Winner - Xavier McKinney

As much as we hate to say it, Xavier McKinney is another free agency winner. The 24-year-old stud safety out of Alabama came on the scene, took a starting spot, and was one of the best players on the team. He posted a career-year with NY and he wanted to be paid like a Top 5 safety.

McKinney wanted to stay in New York, but the Giants decided to go in another direction. Schoen values offensive and defensive linemen as "premium" positions, while positions like safety and running back are seen more as "luxury" spots.

He's building the team the way he sees fit, and most Giants fans have actually embraced it. It is tough to see homegrown talent leave, especially a player of McKinney's talent, but, with many major holes to fill, and multiple positions that needed to be upgraded in a big way, Schoen didn't see a way he could justify paying a "luxury" position $68 million over four years. Losing McKinney sucks, but he earned his payday from Green Bay.
