Loser - Jerome Henderson
Giants defensive back coach Jerome Henderson is great at what he does. He was actually in the running to be the new defensive coordinator this offseason before the Giants went with ex-Titans DC Shane Bowen. With that said, Henderson is going to have his work cut out for him next year because right now the secondary group is pencil thin.
The Giants lost standout safety McKinney to Green Bay in free agency. Adoree' Jackson and Darnay Holmes are both free agents, neither will be back with the team more than likely. The Giants have a desperate need to fill that CB2 spot next season. So far, the only notable player they've added to that secondary is veteran defensive back Jalen Mills. Mills is a versatile piece, who will split time between corner and safety. More help is needed.
Names like Tre'Davious White and Kristian Fulton have come up because of Bills and Titans connections, even ex-Commanders safety Kamren Curl, who recently signed a two-year, $ 13 million deal, was someone the Giants were thought to have interest in. It's pretty telling, but unless there is someone out there that the Giants really love, they won't be adding them in free agency. For Henderson's sake, we really hope some key playmakers are brought in via the draft.
