With NFL free agency taking over recently, we've seen some Big Blue fan favorites leave East Rutherford for a new city. This includes former NY Giants star Saquon Barkley signing with the Eagles and defensive standout Xavier McKinney inking with the Packers.

While watching players leave an organization via trade or free agency is often difficult for fans, it sometimes benefits the team after a player fails miserably on a new squad. That said, let's take a look at four players that the Giants must be thrilled that they moved on from:

4. LB Blake Martinez

Blake Martinez is a perfect example of a player who has failed miserably since departing from the Giants. The veteran linebacker played with the G-Men for two seasons after tearing his ACL, and the organization released him after the 2021 season.

Following his time with the Giants, Martinez was signed to the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad and, after three days, was promoted to the active roster. He would go on to play four games and start two before announcing his retirement from the league to pursue his WhatNot channel, Blake's Breaks. However, he was accused of scamming buyers on some of his rare Pokemon cards.

At the beginning of this past season, Martinez returned to football and signed an official deal with the Carolina Panthers practice squad. He would later be signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers 53-man roster from the Panthers practice squad. Martinez played and started in one game for the Steelers, Week 14 against the Patriots, where he had four combined tackles and two solo. It's safe to say life after NY hasn't gone smooth for him on the field.
