1. Eagles RB Saquon Barkley

In what many considered to be the surprise move of free agency as far as Giants players leaving the team, many Big Blue supporters will be circling the two Eagles games. After six seasons as the Giants face of the franchise, captain and leader, Saquon Barkley departed to sign a three-year deal with the Eagles on the first day of free agency.

A lot of fans were heartbroken over the signing, as Barkley went from wanting to be a “Giant for life” to now playing against the Giants twice a year now. Had Barkley signed with the Chicago Bears, Houston Texans or really, any other team that wasn’t a division rival like the Eagles, the Giants fanbase would have understood. But Barkley staying inside the division and signing with a hated rival really stuck with the fans. Since Barkley has departed, he’s jabbed at people in New York and New Jersey a few times, with the most recent one being while Barkley was attending an NBA playoff game between the New York Knicks and Philadelphia 76ers.

If Barkley thinks the fans are bad now, wait until he returns to MetLife Stadium as a visiting member of the team as opposed to being on the home side getting the cheers. Oddly enough, the last time Barkley played as a member of the Giants was during the 2023, Week 18 season finale against the Eagles. During that game, Barkley scored two touchdowns in a 27-10 win.

If there is any former Giants who will be most out for revenge, it will be Barkley. After all, the Giants didn’t sign him to the long-term deal he wanted and he felt insulted after the team put the franchise tag on him for the 2023 campaign. So, when the Giants and Eagles have their annual matchups in 2024, Barkley might be running with some extra motivation against his former team.
