The 2024 NFL campaign is getting underway this week for the NY Giants, and their roster is ready for battle, but there's still some fascinating names in the free agent pool who could help the franchise compete this season.

Even Joe Schoen would admit the Giants' roster isn't a finished product. There's money available should the team look to make an upgrade throughout the season, whether it's due to play not being up to the team's standard, or an injury forcing their hand. Regardless, New York will have the means to be able to make a move, should they desire a change.

There's certainly a bevy of positions where players have staked their claim, like Andrew Thomas at left tackle, and Brian Burns, Dexter Lawrence and Kayvon Thibodeaux along the team's defensive line. However, there's a myriad of players who could have trouble holding onto their spot throughout the season. With that said, here are four free agents we'd like to see NY go after:

4. QB Ryan Tannehill

Ryan Tannehill is a fascinating case, and he’s enjoyed a rollercoaster career in the NFL. Drafted as the savior of the Miami Dolphins, injuries and subpar coaching held him back with the franchise, and his career looked dead in the water when he joined the Tennessee Titans prior to the 2019 campaign.

As fate would have it, Tannehill’s second act would go much smoother than his first, as he would enjoy immense success leading Mike Vrabel’s Titans over five seasons, with the wheels falling off in 2023. Will Levis was drafted as his successor in the 2023 NFL Draft, and Tennessee made the switch last season to the former Kentucky star.

While Tannehill isn’t a spring chicken, he’s still a more than serviceable quarterback in the league, and his style of play is similar to Daniel Jones, as he possesses above-average mobility for a quarterback. If the trio of Jones, Drew Lock and Tommy DeVito doesn’t inspire confidence, Schoen and the Giants would be well served to seek Tannehill’s services in 2024.
