3. WR Darius Slayton
While the Giants have not yet made plans to trade wide receiver Darius Slayton, he remains a strong trade candidate. Slayton, a veteran wideout, is a role model both on and off the field. Since his arrival in 2019, he has been one of the Giants' most reliable offensive weapons. However, his potential as a trade candidate cannot be overlooked.
With 2024 first-round pick Malik Nabers joining the Giants offense and assuming the WR1 role, Slayton does not get as many opportunities this season. The G-Men hope Nabers will have a similar impact to Odell Beckham Jr, the last Giants receiver to have 1,000 yards or more in a single season in 2018. Slayton has come closest to that mark and has led the Giants in receiving yards in four of the last five seasons, but that may not be the case with Nabers joining the team.
Slayton may be the odd man out in a crowded WR room, including Nabers, Wan'Dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Allen Robinson, Isaiah Hodgins, and Isaiah McKenzie. Not to mention, Slayton did not participate in OTAs and other team activities this offseason as he hoped to restructure his contract and receive an extension from the organization. While Slayton has been partaking in more team activities since the start of the offseason, and his contract was adjusted, he could still be traded.
