3. Chase Cota
Chase Cota was an undrafted free agent wide receiver out of Oregon. The 6-4 200-pound receiver has bounced around during his first year in the league, originally signing a $2.71 million deal with the Lions. He was waived, then he grabbed a cup of coffee with the Kansas City Chiefs before signing with the Houston Texans. After not being offered a reserve/future deal by the Texans, Cota became a free agent. The Giants signed him to a reserve/future deal in January.
Cota is facing an uphill climb to make this roster this upcoming season. He faces a daunting wide receivers room that will no doubt be added to in the draft in two weeks. The Giants are sitting squarely at No. 6, for now, and have a WRs room that already has Wan'dale Robinson, Jalin Hyatt, Darius Slayton, newly added Isaiah McKenzie, along with Miles Boykins and Gunner Olszweski on special teams. Throw in Bryce Ford-Wheaton and Isaiah Hodgins to that group and his possibility of making the roster dwindles even more.
Adding a true playmaking receiver like Marvin Harrison Jr. or Malik Nabers are real possibilities for the Giants, and if they add one of them to a room of Robinson, Hyatt, Slayton, and maybe McKenzie, it's going to be hard for Cota to get on the field.
