2. Timmy Horne
Timmy Horne was originally an undrafted free agent out of Kansas State. He signed on with the New York Giants on Dec. 21 off the Falcons practice squad. After playing in 20 games with the Falcons, Horne only appeared in one game with the Giants. He has been buried on the depth chart since he got to Big Blue. It's hard to see the third-year defensive tackle making the team next season with all the talent Schoen has put into the position. There have been plenty of new faces brought in over recent season, including Jordan Phillips this offseason.
Horne seems to be an afterthought as far as defensive reps go. Rakeem Nunez-Roches and Phillips are good run stuffers, while Dexter Lawrence has displayed the ability to be one of the most complete and all-around interior defenders in the entire league. Riley has flashed some great potential, and with the Giants just investing a pick in Davidson two years ago, he doesn't seem to be going anywhere either.
The defensive tackle class for 2024 is packed with talent and the G-Men could look for added depth on Day 2 or Day 3. While players like Braden Fiske, Kris Jenkins, and Byron Murphy will hear their names called in the first three rounds, there are still defensive tackles like Maason Smith, Fabien Lovett Jr, and Keith Randolph Jr. that will be available in the later rounds of the draft. At this point, it feels like a long shot that Horne will still be around this summer.
