1. The CB2 job

Arguably one of the biggest positional battles of the offseason is at cornerback on the opposite side of the field from Deonte Banks. The Giants will have former first-rounder Banks ready to rock after an impressive rookie campaign, but who will be the team's CB2 to start the season? The Giants have Tre Hawkins III, Nick McCloud and Tre Herndon competing for reps, but veteran Cor'Dale Flott is in line to win the job.

However, Flott is battling a quad injury and did not play last week against Detroit and he's expected to miss the next game against the Texans. Fortunately for the G-Men, it does not appear to be a serious injury. Still, the Flott injury presents an excellent opportunity for McCloud to get a lot of defensive snaps against Houston and potentially moving forward.

With veteran Adoree Jackson' leaving New York this offseason, the door is now open for someone to step up and help bolster this secondary opposite of Banks. There was some speculation that Giants general manager Joe Schoen would use the money from Waller's retirement to sign a veteran corner like Stephon Gilmore to bring in for competition, but that hasn't been the case.
