4 NY Giants primed for a breakout season in 2024
Last season, we saw second-year linebacker Micah McFadden become a difference-maker for the NY Giants defense. Now, entering 2024, there are a few other players on both sides of the ball who could have a similar breakout campaign. Will they be able to answer the call for the G-Men?
These four players have already been solid for New York in recent seasons. However, due to circumstances, they could be primed to make the leap into stardom. At the very least, we expect these guys to show a noticeable improvement in 2024:
4. WR Jalin Hyatt
Despite a rookie year that saw absolutely no consistency around him, Jalin Hyatt still managed to make a handful of plays that showcased his star potential. Now, going into his sophomore season, if the Giants can manage to implement his deep-threat abilities successfully, there's no telling what the ceiling could be for the Tennessee product.
Through 17 games, Hyatt caught 23 passes for 373 yards and zero touchdowns. While these numbers aren't terrible for a third-round pick, it still feels like a lot of yards and catches were left on the field.
The Giants' offense struggled mightily all throughout the 2023 season, so it's no surprise to see that Hyatt didn't have as good of a rookie season as some predicted. However, if New York can finally find some consistency on offense, 2024 could be Hyatt's year.
One of the biggest determining factors in this will be Daniel Jones. Due to various injuries, Jones played in just six games and was incredibly inconsistent in all of them last campaign. If Jones can return to his 2022 form, then Hyatt will be in the best position possible to have a strong year.
