Is it September yet? That's what people have to be thinking after the official NY Giants schedule dropped. The Giants went 6-11 last season, but we think they'll be able to turn things around and go 9-8 in 2024. Only time will tell if that goes down or not.
Having said that, of the 17 games on the calendar, there are four in mind that have 'revenge' written all over them. You already know we're going to talk about the home matchup against Saquon Barkley, but there are others to keep in mind as well. The list includes a QB battle:
4. Daniel Jones vs. Baker Mayfield in Week 12
Baker Mayfield is going to be returning to MetLife during the second half of the campaign. Why is this a revenge game? No one has forgotten about when Mayfield ripped the Giants for taking Danny Dimes with the No. 6 overall pick. Mayfield apologized for it and there's no ill will between him and Daniel Jones, but come on, we'd love to see Jones put him in his place again. The last time Mayfield was in East Rutherford, the Giants took down the Panthers. This time around, he'll be leading the Tampa Bay offense. Let's hope another Baker L will be recorded.
3. Saquon Barkley vs. the NY Giants in East Rutherford come Week 7
MetLife Stadium is going to be PACKED for the first showdown of the year against the Eagles. Yes, they're a hated rival, but this year's game in New Jersey is going to mean so much more with Barkley on the other side of the field. Fans are going to let Barkley have it from start to finish in this one. Nothing would be sweeter than to see that happen in a Giants win.
2. Daniel Jones vs. the Seattle Seahawks in Week 5
The last time Jones played against the Seahawks, it was a Monday Night Football disaster in 2023. Despite playing in front of the home fans, Jones looked absolutely terrible. The scenes of Brian Daboll calling him out for his poor play spoke volumes to how frustrated he was in his performance. The pick-six thrown to Devon Witherspoon was inexcusable. Look for Jones to bounce back, this time with the two sides playing at Lumen Field in the 206.
1. Giants vs. Cowboys in Week 4 on Thursday Night Football
The Giants can't seem to beat the Cowboys and we are tired of it. The 2023 campaign was brutal, with NY battling hard in Dallas, but the Cowboys embarrassed the G-Men in Week 1 last fall. The 40-0 result had people ripping their hair out. The Giants will host Dallas in primetime come Week 4 and an impressive showing must be posted. Kayvon Thibodeaux and Brian Burns to be all over Dak Prescott? For the love of everything that is holy, yes please.
