3. OT Evan Neal

With an all-important season on the horizon, Evan Neal was out of minicamp with an ankle injury. For someone who needs all the reps he can get with the team’s new-look offensive line, that’s a detriment for the former Alabama superstar.

Instead, the Giants have been trying different combinations at right tackle, in Neal’s absence. Injuries derailed his 2023, among other things, and the Giants aren’t willing to give up on Neal, but they can’t afford shoddy play from the right side in 2024, not after what we witnessed last season.

Giants offensive line coach Carmen Bricillo was brought to New York with the idea of fixing the team’s offensive line, and he can’t begin to do that without his right tackle on the field. Every snap he misses is another snap where he could be improving, and becoming the player the Giants drafted during the 2023 NFL Draft.

Injuries are tough, but Neal needs to get healthy, and he needs to do so in quick fashion. If not, he could miss out on valuable time, where he’ll be learning the ropes once again, and it could lead to his time in New York disappearing like dust in the wind.
