3. The Giants continue to back him despite the Drew Lock rumors

The Giants expressed interest in the NFL Draft in guys like Drake Maye, J.J. McCarthy and Michael Penix Jr., but ultimately went in a different direction. The team did not work out a trade with the Patriots to get up and get Maye.

Then they passed on McCarthy and Penix when they were on the board with the No. 6 overall pick. They also passed on all of the Day 2 quarterbacks. The only change in the Giants quarterbacks room was that Drew Lock is in as the backup, while Tyrod Taylor signed with the Jets.

General manager Joe Schoen had made it clear that Jones is his quarterback as soon as he is healthy, however we have heard some rumblings that Lock could compete for the job. DeVito also remains on the roster. If the Giants decide to make this a competition, Jones should be able to beat out Lock, as he has had the better career to this point.
