4 worst contracts on the NY Giants roster in 2024

These contracts are no question holding the Giants back.

1. QB Daniel Jones

The worst contract on the Giants is an easy one to come up with. Taking up almost 20 percent of their salary cap in 2024, Jones will be expected to return to the form that made Schoen ink him to a massive extension. However, that’s far from a guarantee and his $47.85 million cap hit for '24 is a total nightmare.

While Jones’ contract for 2024 is astronomical, the saving grace is the out the Giants have after this season. While they could always choose to keep Jones afterwards, his injury history and inconsistent play would make that a surprise outcome. Then again, Jones being signed to one of the larger contracts for a quarterback at the time of his new deal was one, as well.

The best case scenario for the Giants and Jones is that he returns to the 2022 play that made New York want him to be their quarterback of the present and future. It’s evident Brian Daboll and Schoen believe in his abilities when healthy, and with a weak 2025 quarterback class, not having to reach for a signal-caller would be huge. The ball, and the future of the Giants, is in the quarterback’s court in 2024, it seems.
