Can we get a mulligan? Nothing and we mean nothing went right for the NY Giants in their season-opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The hope was that Daniel Jones would be able to silence his haters and perform like a $160 million quarterback, but instead he has people calling for him to get benched as soon as possible.

In the end, the Vikings were able to leave MetLife Stadium with a 28-6 victory. The Giants couldn't get into any kind of a rhythm on offense, while Sam Darnold had no troubles moving the ball against NY. So, what now for Brian Daboll? Things can only go up, but there's no question it was a day to forget for these players in particular:

NY Giants QB Daniel Jones

You shouldn't be surprised Jones is getting us started here. What in the heck happened to him? In 2022, Jones helped power the G-Men to a 9-7-1 record, leading to his extension. Since then, nothing has gone right for him. In the loss to the Vikes, Jones tossed for only 186 yards. Oh, he also had two interceptions, including a pick-six posted by Andrew Van Ginkel. Jones should have never made that throw. Brian Daboll said he's going to stick with his QB, but it could be Drew Lock time sooner rather than later.

NY Giants RB Devin Singletary

It was a pretty average, yet disappointing day for new Giants starting running back Devin Singletary. He finished with 10 carries for 37 yards. Through the air, he posted four receptions for 15 yards. The Giants were trailing most of the game, so the rushing attack couldn't get going, but still. Singletary was underwhelming. It doesn't help that Saquon Barkley posted more than 100 yards in his Eagles debut - he also had three total touchdowns.

NY Giants pass-rusher Brian Burns

All offseason, we heard about how much of a difference pass-rusher Brian Burns was going to make for Daboll and new defensive coordinator Shane Bowen. Burns is one of the best outside 'backers in the game, but his first action with Big Blue was not what anyone was hoping for. In his pass-rush work, he posted just a single pressure on Vikings signal-caller Sam Darnold. Burns wasn't able to do much of anything going against the Minnesota offensive line. Not what we wanted to see out of Burns after the Giants gave him a deal worth up to $150 million.

NY Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt

Before kickoff, all the attention was on Malik Nabers. The No. 6 overall pick led the Giants with five receptions for 66 yards. However, Jalin Hyatt entered the season as someone who was expected to have a breakout sophomore campaign. Things aren't starting off the right way for him. Hyatt, a former Biletnikoff Award winner, finished with zero receptions and only one target. To be fair, Jones couldn't make much of anything happen, but we expected much more out of Hyatt to begin '24.

NY Giants pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux

Just like Burns, it was a bit of a rough showing for third-year pass-rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux. Between the two, zero sacks were recorded. The reliable Dexter Lawrence posted a sack in the first quarter which was great to see, but Thibodeaux and Burns were non-factors in the loss. Thibodeaux only had one QB hit. Burns and Thibodeaux were supposed to be one of the best pass-rush duos in the game, but Minnesota's offensive line handled them with ease and they barely broke a sweat. It's a bit of a concerning tag-team debut for them.
