3. Brian Burns is worth it and then some

The biggest move of the Giants offseason, and arguably one of the biggest moves in the league's offseason, came when Schoen made the trade for Brian Burns. The Giants secure the former Carolina linebacker for a second round pick, a fifth round pick and a pick swap. It doesn't seem like much on paper, but then came the contract extension: five years, $141 million and 87.5 million guaranteed. Yes, he's one of the best defensive players out there, but it's still a lot of money to invest in someone, even a two-time Pro Bowler.

The Giants and Giants fans can only hope he plays worthy of a contract like that. The front office showed their faith in Burns, and 2024 is the first chance he has to make them look like the smartest people out there.

An All-Pro team, a Pro Bowl and maybe even some DPOY talk would go a long way for the organization and its fans. Dexter Lawrence is signed long term, Kayvon Thibodeaux continues to get better and now Burns is added as a defensive anchor. Let's hope he lives up to it.
