The New York Giants have done well throughout the 2024 NFL free agency period, but their fellow division rivals inside the NFC East have also proven their moxie. Over the last couple of seasons, the Giants have dominated matchups with the Washington Commanders, but they’ve found wins against the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys tough to come by. Joe Schoen and company made the necessary moves to try to compete with the best in the division, but the Eagles, Cowboys and even the Commanders have improved, as well.

The addition of players like Brian Burns and Jon Runyan Jr. will go a long way towards getting the Giants to where they want to go. However, what about the moves their fellow NFC East counterparts made? There’s some that should strike fear into the minds of Big Blue’s fans entering the 2024 campaign, with these five standing out:

5. DE Bryce Huff, Philadelphia Eagles

When Bryce Huff came into the NFL, there wasn’t much fanfare. He was an undrafted free agent out of Memphis, and the former Tigers defender took his talents to Florham Park, where he’d look to make a name for himself with the New York Jets.

Make a name for himself, he did. Huff accumulated 65 total tackles and 14.5 sacks throughout his time with the Jets, and became one of the more intimidating forces on New York’s stout defense. However, they had other needs, namely their offensive line to consider, so they allowed Huff to hit the open market.

That’s when he signed with the Eagles, after some smoke that the Giants could be interested. Over the course of his three-year contract, Philadelphia will be paying a pretty penny, but if the past is any indication, the Eagles’ coaching staff will get the most out of Huff, as he joins an already talented defensive line, looking to make the next step.

The Eagles now have a young, uber-athletic player, brimming with potential looking to attack whoever the Giants quarterback is in 2024. It’s one of the many moves they made, and while it may not have garnered the most attention, it may end up being the most impactful.
