4. RB Austin Ekeler - Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders will look a lot different this season. With several new faces in the building, the question is, how good will the Commanders be in 2024? One of those new faces is veteran running back Austin Ekeler, who spent the last eight seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The 29-year-old RB signed a two-year, $11.43 million deal with the Commanders, which makes him the 17th highest-paid running back in the league ahead of Zack Moss, Jamaal Williams, and last year's rushing touchdowns leader Raheem Mostert, who had 18. Last season, Ekeler had 628 yards, five touchdowns, and averaged 3.5 yards per carry in 14 games. While he missed three games due to an ankle injury suffered on a Week 1 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Ekeler had 13 rushing touchdowns the year before in 2022, which was tied for the second-most in the league behind Williams.

It's interesting why the Commanders offered Ekeler what they did after he drastically fell off last season. He will likely serve as the team's RB2 behind Brian Robinson Jr. We'll see if the veteran running back can meet expectations with the Commanders in 2024 and replicate a similar performance to the one he had two seasons ago.
