1. QB Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys

While the Cowboys are consistently a playoff team year after year, they don't meet expectations in the postseason. Dak Prescott has a record of 2-5 in the playoffs in his career. Both wins came in the Wild Card round against the Seattle Seahawks in 2019 and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2023. Dak has yet to lead the Cowboys past the Divisional Round, and for a team with a loaded offense and defense full of weapons, they should've at least had at least one NFC Conference Championship appearance by now.

Prescott is also in the last year of his current contract, making him an unrestricted free agent after this season. That means this will be a prove-it season for Dak, so he gets paid next offseason. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has put the three-time Pro Bowler in a rough spot where it sounds like he doesn't want to retain Prescott following this season, which makes it an uncomfortable environment for the veteran quarterback entering this year.

The Cowboys also have a lot of notable free agents after this year, including CeeDee Lamb, Ezekiel Elliott, Rico Dowdle, Zack Martin, and DeMarcus Lawrence. Micah Parsons is also eyeing a new deal following this season. It will be interesting to see how Dallas allocates their money to whoever they prioritize keeping long-term.
