5 NY Giants who have hurt their stock at training camp
4. RB Eric Gray
The jury remains out on Eric Gray with the Giants, but with Saquon Barkley’s departure, someone has to pick up the slack. It doesn’t look like it’ll be him, though, as the sophomore running back has taken a backseat to some new additions throughout training camp.
When Barkley signed with the Eagles, some theorized Gray could take over for the Philadelphia-bound running back. Then, the Giants signed veteran Devin Singletary, and drafted Tyrone Tracy Jr. out of Purdue, and both ball carriers are higher on the depth chart than Gray at the moment.
That could all change in an instant. We’ve seen unheralded running backs elevate their game during the season. Alas, there’s only so many carriers to go around, and if training camp is any indication, Gray will be relegated to a background role in 2024. On the flip side, Tracy is looking good for a first-year playmaker.
