5 NY Giants who have hurt their stock at training camp
2. S Tyler Nubin
Tyler Nubin looked like he was going to slot in as the Giants new starting safety when the team drafted him in the second round in April. However, an injury has stalled his potential, and Dane Belton has taken the opportunity and ran with it.
Just look at what defensive coordinator Shane Bowen said about Belton earlier last week, praising the former Iowa standout while relenting that it’d be nice to see what Nubin can do on the field.
"I think obviously we want them all out there. We want them all out there practicing. It's tough to improve when you're not practicing. It is. And one thing I'll say for Dane is he's taken ownership of it, and he's fighting like hell to earn that job. Which he should. It's his job to lose right now."

Alas, Nubin’s loss is Belton’s gain, and the veteran defensive back is making the most of his new opportunity. While there’s plenty of time for the former Big Ten star to get his NFL career on track, he may not be a starter from Day 1 like the Giants envisioned, with Belton making a name for himself throughout training camp.
