1. CB Cor’Dale Flott

With Adoree’ Jackson moving on from the Giants, former LSU defensive back Cor’Dale Flott seemed primed to take over as the team’s CB2 in 2024. The competition isn’t exactly stout, as it’s one of the weaker positions on the team, but one player was going to receive the vote of confidence from Bowen and the defensive staff to try and shut down opposing wide receivers.

Flott seemed to be the one earmarked for the role, but Nick McCloud has made it a difficult decision for the Giants, as Bowen provided the media with effusive praise for McCloud while speaking with reporters.

"Nick's been kind of doing a little bit of everything so far in camp. He's been outside some. He's been inside some. He's played some money for us on third down. So, I think the thought process initially was let's put Flott out there. He hasn't really played out there at this level up to this point. He played a lot inside last year. So, let's put him out there and let him get his work there, and see what we got, see what we have with the versatility aspect of that, and that will continue to evolve with both of those guys as we kind of work our way through here."

If McCloud is really rising above him on the depth chart, the former LSU product will find it tough to see the field in 2024, barring injuries. We’ll see if he can change the narrative throughout the preseason, as there are still high expectations for Flott in '24.
