3. TE Darren Waller

Speaking of the tight end position for the Giants, we can’t leave out Waller here, as June 1 is looming and the rules for cap space and dead money changes. Since the offseason began, the Giants have been operating under the notion that Waller is not returning to the team, which was why the Giants went out and made several additions to the position, with the biggest one being Johnson with their fourth-round selection in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Waller has continued to maintain his uncertainty of wanting to make a decision on playing for the Giants in 2024 or retiring. Although, if his latest move is any signal of what his future entails, it could be Waller wanting to pursue music over football.

Even though the Giants have said they will give Waller his space to make a decision, the Giants could always change their minds and decide to release him as a post-June 1 move for the cap savings and more importantly, the roster spot. Right now, it sure seems like Waller cares more about his music career than he does his football one. If that’s the case, the Giants just need to cut bait and move on from him.
