5 NY Giants with the most to prove once training camp arrives
3. CB Cor'Dale Flott
With all the questions surrounding the Giants' secondary this offseason, it has been nice to see the coaching staff put so much confidence in Cor'Dale Flott to be the team's CB2 next to Deonte Banks. The hype has been nice, but Flott now has to prove that it's worthy during training camp.
Throughout his first two seasons, Flott has bounced around between the slot and outside, but it's been clear which position is better for him - outside. However, even when in the slot, Flott was still pretty productive and showed flashes of excellence. He just has to do so consistently in order to earn the CB2 position.
Despite being lined up in the slot for the majority of the 2023 season, Flott allowed 40 receptions on 62 targets for 452 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. These numbers aren't eye-popping by any means, but they also aren't bad for a third-round pick who spent most of his first season off the field with injuries.
Flott has a massive opportunity to prove he can be a starting-caliber player for the Giants, one he cannot waste. With the recent signing of Tre Herndon, there's a chance that Flott could be pushed out of the running fast if he underperforms in training camp.
